COMMUNITY ACTION AND RESPONSE COMMITTEE (CARC)
The Community Action and Response Committee (CARC) is Jewish World Watch's public education/public awareness and advocacy committee. CARC is charged with impacting public opinion and public policy so that there is a groundswell of sentiment against genocide and against global human rights abuses. The current focus of the CARC is the genocide in Darfur, Sudan and trying to help build widespread public sentiment which does not tolerate this genocide.
Based on the priorities set by Jewish World Watch, CARC monitors events in troubled regions, identifies areas where the committee can effectively organize, issue action alerts, urge letter writing, petition signing, rallies, and other types of public awareness and education efforts. Occasionally, and within the limits of our tax-exempt status, Jewish World Watch takes action to actually create or directly influence legislation.
