This year JWW visited Camp Ramah, JCA Shalom, Gindling Hilltop Camp, and Camp Hess Kramer to run our Activist Boot Camp Program. We set up a series of four stations, including: recording video messages to the electronics companies to demand conflict-free products, making a banner to be displayed up at camp to educate others about the ongoing atrocities in Congo, writing letters home to their parents urging them to call President Obama to take action on Congo, and learning about four different relief projects and how difficult it can be to prioritize funding when there is so much need. We worked with 5th grade through 10th grade campers and older counselors and invited them all to take action when they returned home by joining ACT!
