NFTY SoCal Wants Conflict-Free Products
In March 2011, 200 Jewish high school teens got together to learn about the situation in Congo through the North American Federation of Temple Youth's Southern California Region (NFTY SoCal). From there 50 teens chose to take further action against the atrocities occurring in Congo by getting conflict-free petitions signed at a farmer's market, by making and sending video messages to electronics companies, and making posters for the Walk to End Genocide. After the event one of the teens, Rebecca Burten from La Canada High School in Flintridge, made this video compiling all the video pledges. The video is made in memory of Justin Shabsis.
