The CIA has failed

Re "U.S. relies on Sudan despite condemning it," June 11
It is appalling to read the justification for U.S. reliance on Sudanese
spies provided by a former CIA official: "There's not much that
blond-haired, blue-eyed case officers from the United States can do in the
entire Middle East, and there's nothing they can do in Iraq." Maybe the real
reason the CIA supposedly needs to rely on the genocidal government of Sudan
is that it is blind or possibly racist. Only a blind person could conclude
that America's population, made up of immigrants from all over the world, is
mostly blond-haired and blue-eyed, and it is a racist organization that
would hire only blond-haired and blue-eyed Americans. That the CIA has
failed America has been clear since the weapons-of-mass-destruction debacle,
which led us into war. Perhaps the most demeaning measure of its failure is
that the U.S. is now bartering what is probably worthless information for
the lives of thousands of civilians in Darfur.
