JWW is working to rehabilitate and staff a system of four health posts in Ouandja Commune, Central African Republic. Built by our partners at International Medical Corps, the health posts act as primary care centers, focusing on treating preventable diseases, acting as urgent-care centers before referral to a larger clinic, and offering programming to both Darfuri refugees and local populations on health and sanitation issues. The health posts will provide prenatal care, postnatal care, immunizations, nutrition monitoring, outpatient services and emergency referrals. Community Health Workers trained through the projects will manage treatments for the four main diseases plaguing residents and refugees: malaria, acute respiratory infection, diarrhea and malnutrition.
Help JWW fund development projects like these.
